  • Nov. 24, 2014:RF Micro Devices and TriQuint Semiconductor announced that they have set Dec. 31 as the closing date for their merger. Their new name will be namedQorvo Inc.and trading of stock for the new company is set for Jan. 2, 2015 with the ticker symbol of QRVO.
  • Jan. 2, 2015: New company begins trading on the NASDAQ Global Stock Exchange, opening at $69.00, closing at $70.40, with first day's range of $68.01 - $71.87.
  • Jan. 4, 2015: CEO, Robert Bruggeworth received a pay raise 3 days after merger. His base salary for 2015 will be $735,000, a 4.5 percent increase.
  • Feb. 18, 2015: Qorvo announces that executive vice president of administration, Dean Priddy will retire at the end of March.
  • Jun. 2015:Qorvo will replace Lorillard’s listing on the S&P 500 index.
  • Jun. 2015: Qorvo, currently employing 1,400 in Greensboro announced plans to hire 50 new employees, mostly in engineering, but also in IT and finance.
  • Sept.15, 2015: Greensboro City Council voted unanimously to give Qorvo $544,279 in incentives, paid over five years. The company said the money will be used to build a 150,000-square foot research center on its campus on Thorndike Road.
  • Sept. 17, 2015: The Guilford County commissioners voted to give the company $333,750 in incentives to help construct a research and development center in Greensboro.
  • Oct. 2015:RF Micro Devices has been assigned two federal patents. The first, for "front end circuitry for carrier aggregation configurations, " was invented by Marcus Granger-Jones of Scotts Valley, Calif., and Nadim Khlat of Cugnaux, France. Their application was filed on June 28, 2013. the second, developed by Christian Rye Iversen of Vestbjerg, Denmark, is for a "switch architecture for TDMA and FDD multiplexing." His application was filed on Feb. 7, 2005.
  • Nov. 2015: Qorvo announced the price structure of its investment notes that are scheduled to raise $1 billion by 2025.There are $450 million in notes maturing on Dec. 1, 2023, and $550 million on Dec. 1, 2025. They will pay interest semiannually at a rate of 6.75 percent and 7 percent, respectively. Sale on the notes will close Nov. 19. Qorvo has more than 7,000 global employees. The company also announced that they werereleasing seven new products designed for "small cell" use to improve cellular transmission and reception in such concentrated areas as sports stadiums and airports.
  • Dec 4., 2015: Qorvo announced that they would hire 100 new jobs as part of their $25 million expansion over three years. Average salary for the new jobs will be $80,000. The expansion will include a 150,000-square-foot research and development center and $5.5 million for machinery and equipment. Qorvo will receive a $500,000 grant from One North Carolina Fund and a combined $877,750 from Greensboro and Guilford County. Their current local workforce is 1,429.
  • Feb. 17, 2016: Announced a share repurchase program with Bank of America to buy back $500 million of Qorvo common stock.
  • April 18, 2016:Qorvo announced theacquisitionofNetherlands-based Green Peak Technologies.
  • Aug. 2016: U.S. Patent office assigned a patent, developed by Nadim Khlat of Cugnaux, France, for a "transmit and receive RF multiplexer." His application was filed Oct. 27, 2014.
  • Aug. 2016: The company announces that Greensboro is now the sole headquarters for the company. Previously, headquarter operations were shared by Greensboro and Hillsboro, Ore.
